Another exciting match on a warm February afternoon in Edinburgh against a top three side.
A nervous start from Stirling resulted in some simple slick passing from ESM and a couple of early goals after 10 minutes. Stirling regained some composure and started to play, however we never looked like troubling their defence. A great individual dribble by their pivot player, who was allowed to go past six players, eventually created a great opportunity and they scored their third goal about five minutes before half time.
Determined to do better in the second half Stirling fought harder and strived to penetrate the final third more often. An early goal against us didn’t stop the resurgence and finally a quick counter attack from Chris Hemm resulted in a good through ball for Alan santi to score vs the goal keeper. A well deserved goal for all our efforts. The match continued on in the same vein with some chances for both teams but no more goals.
Slightly disappointed that we did not create enough chances to be in the game more for all our efforts in the first half. However we should be pleased we drew the second half 1:1.
