Terms & Conditions
Effective Date: April 2025
Welcome to Stirling Wanderers. These Terms and Conditions govern your participation in our team activities. By joining or taking part in anything we organise, you agree to the following:
1. Club Structure
Stirling Wanderers is a volunteer-run, non-profit amateur field hockey team. We are not a registered legal entity. All team operations are managed by a committee of volunteers acting in good faith and without compensation.
2. Participation and Conduct
We ask all players (or parents/guardians for under-18s) to:
-
Treat teammates, opponents, and officials with respect
-
Communicate availability in advance when possible
-
Follow guidance from coaches or team organisers
-
Refrain from any behaviour that could endanger others or damage the club’s reputation
We reserve the right to remove individuals from team activities if conduct becomes unsafe or inappropriate.
3. Medical and Safety
Participation in any team activity is at your own risk. We welcome players of all abilities and encourage everyone to:
-
Be mindful of their own wellbeing and participate at a level that feels comfortable
-
Let us know about any relevant medical conditions or allergies that may help us support you better
-
Wear suitable protective gear, such as mouthguards and shin pads, particularly during matches
While we will always act responsibly and do our best to support player safety, the team cannot accept liability for any injury or illness that may occur.
4. Liability Disclaimer
As a volunteer-led community club, we are unable to accept responsibility for any injury, loss, or damage that may occur during participation in matches, training, or team events.
By taking part, you acknowledge that physical activity carries inherent risks. The club does not provide insurance, so if you wish to have cover in place, you may choose to arrange personal or sports insurance at your own discretion.
5. Media Consent
Photos and videos may be taken at matches and events for use on our website, social media, or promotional materials.
If you do not consent to this, please inform us in writing.
6. Data Protection
We collect and store only the personal information necessary to run the team — such as emergency contacts, medical notes (if disclosed), and communication details.
This is handled in line with our Privacy Policy. We never sell your data or use it for anything unrelated to the club.
7. Changes To These Terms
These Terms may be updated as the team evolves. You will always find the latest version on our website. Continued participation means you accept any updated terms.
